Vacany for Parish Councillor    7 January, 2016

There is a vacancy on the Parish Council, to be filled by co-option (ballot by existing members) at the Council’s next meeting.

Do you want to do something positive and make a difference by influencing decisions that affect your community?

Councillors work together to serve their community and your task would be to bring local issues to the council's attention and help it make decisions on behalf of the community.  Parish Councils play a vital part in representing the interests of the communities they serve and improving the quality of life and the local environment.  They can influence other decision makers and can, in many cases, deliver services to meet local needs.  In other words, you and your council can make a difference.

Your Parish Council gets involved in planning, highways, transport, traffic, housing, playing fields, playgrounds, litter, seats, shelters and rights of way.  The Government is encouraging local councils to deliver more services and to play a greater part in their communities.  Amberley Parish Council are also in the process of developing a Neighbourhood Plan which will shape the development and conservation of the Parish for the next 15 to 20 years.

All who wish to be considered as candidates are invited to apply in writing (including email) to the Clerk, at the address shown below.  You need to be on a Register of Electors (not necessarily in Amberley Parish) and over 18.

If you would like to know more about being a member of Amberley Parish Council before applying, please call me on 01903 742181 or email vhspiers@hotmail.com.  Any council member will also be happy to talk to you about being a councillor.

We look forward to hearing from you!

Vicky Spiers, Clerk to Amberley Parish Council

82 Hormare Crescent, Storrington, West Sussex RH20 4QW
